Black Tie

More experimentation with glass in the dark box. Two elegant, blown vessels, all about curving lines... a long-necked ewer with a gooseneck handle, and a short, plump amphora form, showing one of two matching arms on opposite sides of the neck. Both in opaque black glass with gold leafed trim. I lit again from the left; this time through a 1" wide slit running the height of the side wall, to create the crisp, narrow vertical highlights on the black glass. And, had to focus-stack 5 separate images to get adequate sharpness throughout.
These vases are the work of the super-talented glassblower, Michael Schunke, out of West Grove, PA.

Very cool. #11677690Chris Budny February 11, 2018
Thanks, Nikki! I already need to consider making a bigger enclosure -- the current dark box I put together is a bit too small to let me comfortably compose the full height of taller pieces like the pitcher... #11677785Teresa L. Brooks March 28, 2018
