Super Wave

Who could resist going down to that nice little ledge, even if getting there and back is like walking on ball bearings? This photo was taken on January 30 at The Port Orford Heads (Port Orford, Oregon). Not counting the “curtain”, I’d guess the big wave is over 25 feet high. It was built up from the splash back of a previous wave. This can happen when the wave/swell spacing is close. What an impressive sound and water show it provides!

You are the epitome of "intrepid," Randall. This is a gorgeous image...I hope you use a solid walking stick when you traverse ball bearings! #1360662Karen Celella April 27, 2011
